Slow stitch project examples

Although the initial idea was to complete a quilted storycloth hanging, it was suggested by Coventry City of Culture to join their lantern procession

 

With 'Sew What?' evolving into a worldwide project it seemed fitting that my artistic response was to find a way to display the powerful worlds on as large a stage as possible, to honour the courage and contribution.  A Warwickshire willow lantern was constructed and exhibited partially complete within cultural capital to allow as many women as possible to visit their art and see the journey of the project before the formal exhibition in November 2021
